Zoetrope

The Zoetrope can be used to make small, unique animations. We saw a hoola hoop dancer made in small models changing motion slowly and when the Zoetrope is spun fast using flickering lights it creates an animation. When we look through the holes we could see the animation but it could be done without the holes using only flickering light. This can help my animation by showing how quick an animation must be to have fluid movement.

Cinematograph

The Cinematograph was playing a movie which was being played with no sound. The Cinematograph uses picture by picture played at about 24fps. When the lever is turned the movie was played. This shows me how many small pictures played at quick speed can make a short story and sound may be recorded over it afterwards.

Stop Motion

In the museum we created our own stopmotion video using movable body parts. We created a video using pictures playing at 24 fps. I learnt how making small changes to a character, background...etc at every frame can make a smooth animation when played together.
